In the free Belarus, the streets will be named after those who really struggled for its independence.
Co-Chairman of the BPR Council, member of the Belarusian PEN-center, journalist Siarhei Navumchyk wrote this on his Facebook page on the occasion of the official “independence day” celebration in Minsk.“No parade, no idlers who came to look at the tanks, no “Great Victory”, no generals, no man wearing Generalissimo shoulder straps have anything to do with Belarus’ Independence, not in the slightest. I publish this picture today – in it, there are the deceased opposition BPF deputies who had achieved Independence. Some of them have now been forgotten even by the opposition activists, but in some 50 years there will be monuments to them, and streets will be named after them (there can’t be any other attitude in a democratic country to the actual founders of this country).
Ihar Hermianchuk, Ihar Pyrkh, Halina Siamdzianava, Barys Huntar, Henadz Hrushavy. May our memory and gratitude to them live forever. Long Live Belarus!” – Siarhei Navumchyk wrote.
