Release of political prisoners

Yesterday it was announced that 9 of Belarus' political prisoners had been released. The details have not yet been clarified, but state media has said that those release have signed a letter acknowledging the criminality of their actions surrounding the December 19th peaceful protest, and apologising to the Dictator. Today 7 of the 9 names have been released, they are:

Vasil Parfiankou

Yauhen Sakret

Artsiom Hrybkou

Uladzimir Yaromenak

Dzmitry Drozd
 
Vital Matsukevich

Statements of well wishing have been issued from many opposition groups. Irina Bogdanova of Free Belarus Now said today "while the release of political prisoners is very welcome, it should not be forgotten that these are conditional releases, we will accept nothing less than the unconditional release of all political prisoners in Belarus."
